Over the years my family has become more and more health conscious. We eat organic as often as we can. We avoid unnecessary toxins. We’re constantly weighing the pros and cons of health decisions. We try to exercise and move our bodies everyday, and we believe sunshine and laughter are medicines for the soul.

Cancer is prevalent on both sides of our large family. We’re aware of the increased risks and make our health decisions based on the roads we’ve walked with our dear loved ones leaving our lives prematurely. We can’t control everything, but the things we can control we will.

Everyone ages. There’s no way around getting older. We can embrace our crowns of wisdom (otherwise known as gray hairs!) and we can look to health screenings as important for establishing baselines. As we age, we can compare our test results. Thermography is an easy and painless way to take a health assessment. What is thermography, you ask?

Well, according to InfraRead Thermography for Wellness, it’s a radiation-free, state-of-the-art screening procedure that uses heat detection to locate areas of temperature differences in the body. Most pathological processes demonstrate a form of increased heat. Some neurological processes show excessive cold, or hypothermia.

Breast disease can be detected by looking for areas of excessive or increasing heat that may indicate areas of angiogenesis, or an increase of blood vessels supplied by a growing tumor. Thermography has been used for breast cancer detection since 1956. It was cleared by the FDA in 1982 as an adjunctive procedure for breast cancer screening. Thermography is great for dense breast tissue and offers a much earlier detection of possible disease. There is no pain or compression of the breast, making the procedure safe and contact free. Thermography is also safe for those with breast implants. It’s a healthy alternative for keeping tabs on “the girls”.

Thermography is a safe, non-invasive, and low cost screening method helpful in the diagnosis and documentation of disease. This list of screenings includes, but is not limited to, breast health, thyroid health, lymphatic congestion, abdominal inflammation, vascular system analysis, neuromuscular disorders, and other pathologies. It’s an excellent health screening for the young as well as the aging. Keeping a regular assessment on your health is especially important if your family has a previous history of cancer or other chronic disease. There’s no need to wait until middle age to get a healthy baseline. Knowledge is power and prevention is key!

InfraRead Thermography offers three comprehensive screenings: Breast, Upper Body, and Full Body. Breast screenings consist of six images, including multiple images of both breasts, armpit area, and lymph nodes. The Upper Body exam includes eighteen images of the torso, the full breast screening, and cranial images that give information within the oral cavity. The most comprehensive exam is the Full Body. It includes twenty-nine images, everything in the Upper Body scan as well as the arms, shoulders, feet, and various angles of the legs, lending great insight on circulation and vascularity. All reports are reviewed and signed by a senior thermography interpreter.

If you’re local to my area and would like to schedule an appointment with InfraRead Thermography, they’d be happy to chat with you further. You can reach them at info@InfraReadThermography.com, www.InfraReadThermography.com, or on their social channels @InfraReadThermography. They’re also hosting a showcase of local health-conscious businesses at their health fair on Sunday, April 18th. You can visit them from 1pm – 4pm at 8700 Auburn Folsom Road, Granite Bay, California.

As we age, proactive health care is an important decision we can make for our own vitality. Regular exams and screenings can help to detect pathology before it becomes chronic disease. I’ve lost my mother, my mother-in-law, and my sister all too early in life. I plan to be proactive with my health. I had my screenings done. It was super easy! I encourage you to do the same. Take care of YOU, Mama!! Your family needs you. You deserve a long and beautiful life.
